The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Citizens’ Rights and Political Mobilisation, Hon. David Excel Onuche, has called on residents of Kogi State to vote for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s local government council elections scheduled for October 17, 2026.
Onuche, who is also the Director-General of the Native Boys Movement in Kogi State, urged eligible voters across the 21 local government areas of the state to come out in large numbers and exercise their franchise in support of the ruling party’s candidates.
He said the election presented an important opportunity for the people to support candidates who, according to him, would work in alignment with the development agenda of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and promote effective governance at the grassroots.
The governor’s aide emphasised the importance of local government administration in delivering democratic dividends to communities, noting that the council election would play a significant role in determining the direction of grassroots development across the state.
He called on APC supporters, party faithful and other stakeholders to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the poll by encouraging eligible voters to participate actively in the electoral process.
According to him, sustained grassroots engagement and popular participation are essential to strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring that elected representatives remain connected to the needs and aspirations of the people.
Onuche further urged party supporters to remain committed to the APC and work collectively towards securing victory for its candidates across the state’s 21 local government areas.
He maintained that the success of the party’s candidates would provide an opportunity to consolidate the state government’s development priorities and extend the benefits of governance to communities at the local level.
The Special Adviser also stressed the need for political mobilisation to be accompanied by responsible conduct, urging stakeholders to approach the election with a sense of duty and commitment to the democratic process.
As the state prepares for the council poll, his appeal adds to calls by political stakeholders for increased voter participation and support for their preferred candidates.
Onuche reiterated his call on the people of Kogi State to turn out on election day and vote for APC candidates, expressing confidence in the party’s ability to advance its political and development objectives through the local government election.
He signed the statement in his capacity as Director-General of the Native Boys Movement, Kogi State, and Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Citizens’ Rights and Political Mobilisation.
