The organising team of the third edition of Ankara Fiesta 2027, led by 1st ROK Entertainment UK, has intensified preparations for the forthcoming cultural celebration with a series of strategic courtesy visits to key tourism and cultural institutions in Lagos State.
The team visited the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism to explore areas of collaboration and establish strategic partnerships that would strengthen the event’s cultural significance, tourism potential and overall impact on Nigeria’s creative economy.
The visit was aimed at fostering institutional support and identifying opportunities for cooperation with the state government in promoting Lagos as a destination for cultural tourism, entertainment, fashion and other creative industries.
As part of efforts to deepen the cultural relevance of the forthcoming fiesta and recognise the contribution of Nigerian music legends to global entertainment, the organising team also paid visits to the iconic New Afrika Shrine and the Kalakuta Museum, the former residence of legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
During the visits, the team formally extended an invitation to the Kuti family to participate in the epoch-making Ankara Fiesta 2027, recognising the family’s enduring contribution to the development and international recognition of Nigerian music and culture.
The visit to the New Afrika Shrine and Kalakuta Museum further reflected the organisers’ intention to connect the fiesta with Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage while celebrating the legacy of individuals and institutions that have shaped the country’s entertainment industry.
Fela Anikulapo-Kuti remains one of Africa’s most influential musical figures, with his Afrobeat movement continuing to inspire generations of musicians, cultural enthusiasts and creative practitioners across the world. His legacy has also contributed significantly to Nigeria’s international cultural identity.
The organising team explained that the series of visits formed part of its broader commitment to promoting authentic Nigerian culture, encouraging cultural exchange and strengthening relationships with relevant government institutions, entertainment stakeholders and heritage organisations.
Ankara Fiesta has continued to position itself as a platform for showcasing the diversity and richness of Nigerian culture through fashion, music, comedy, cuisine and commerce.
The 2027 edition is expected to bring together fashion designers, entertainers, comedians, entrepreneurs, cultural enthusiasts and other stakeholders in the creative industry on one platform to celebrate Nigeria’s cultural identity and explore opportunities within the creative economy.

Beyond entertainment, the fiesta is expected to provide opportunities for networking, business promotion, cultural exchange and the showcasing of Nigerian fashion and indigenous creativity to a wider audience.
The organisers believe that strategic partnerships with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism and established cultural institutions such as the New Afrika Shrine and Kalakuta Museum will help strengthen the event’s visibility and create greater opportunities for collaboration within the tourism and entertainment sectors.
With Lagos serving as the host city, the fiesta is also expected to contribute to the state’s cultural tourism profile by attracting participants and visitors from different parts of Nigeria and beyond.
The organisers have described Ankara Fiesta 2027 as an event that will be bigger, bolder and more impactful, with a programme designed to unite different aspects of the creative industry under one platform.
The third edition of Ankara Fiesta is scheduled to hold on January 9, 2027, at Oramiyan Hall, Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The event is expected to provide another opportunity to celebrate Nigerian heritage, promote indigenous fashion and creativity, honour cultural icons and strengthen the relationship between entertainment, tourism and commerce.
As preparations gather momentum, the organisers are looking forward to welcoming government representatives, members of the Kuti family, entertainers, fashion enthusiasts, business leaders and other distinguished guests to the 2027 edition.
