Ambassador Dr Kate Ekeh has called on Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, urging citizens to give the President another four-year term to consolidate his achievements and complete ongoing projects and reforms.
Ekeh made the appeal while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
She expressed confidence that the Tinubu administration would deliver greater results in its second term, insisting that Nigerians should exercise patience and allow the President to complete the initiatives he had started since assuming office.
According to her, despite the economic difficulties associated with the removal of the petrol subsidy, the administration has recorded notable achievements in road construction, student financing, agriculture and infrastructure development.
She acknowledged that the subsidy removal had imposed some hardship on Nigerians but maintained that the government’s broader policy initiatives and development projects deserved consideration as the country approached the 2027 general election.
“President Tinubu has done a whole lot. Apart from the subsidy he removed, which is affecting people a little, look at the road networks, the student loan scheme, the agricultural sector, infrastructure and many others. There are a whole lot of achievements,” she said.
Ekeh stressed that the country needed continuity in leadership to enable the administration to complete its ongoing projects and fully implement its policies.
She urged Nigerians not to judge the administration solely by the immediate economic challenges but also to consider its ongoing infrastructure projects and long-term development agenda.
“So, for you to see somebody like me on a wheelchair coming out to say that we should allow him to finish what he has started, I want Nigerians to allow him to complete what he has begun,” she added.
The ambassador appealed to Nigerians to demonstrate patience with the administration, expressing optimism that the country’s economic and developmental situation would improve over the next four years if President Tinubu secured re-election.
She said the country needed patience, unity and collective prayers as the government continued implementing its programmes and policies.
“I believe the next four years will get better, by the grace of God. I call on Nigerians to be patient. We are always in a hurry, and we should allow him to finish what he has started,” Ekeh said.
She also called for sustained prayers for the country and its leadership, noting that while the President was making efforts to address national challenges through government policies and physical development projects, Nigerians should complement those efforts with prayers for peace, stability and progress.
According to her, national development requires time, commitment and continuity, adding that Nigerians should remain hopeful about the country’s future.

Ekeh particularly highlighted the administration’s infrastructure development programme, describing the scale of road construction and other ongoing projects as significant.
She maintained that the President’s record in road infrastructure was one of the major reasons Nigerians should consider supporting his re-election bid.
She also referenced the proposed Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as an example of the administration’s major infrastructure initiatives, arguing that projects of such magnitude could contribute to economic growth, improved connectivity and national development.
According to her, the administration’s performance should be assessed against the projects it has initiated and the policies it is implementing to address the country’s development needs.
She insisted that President Tinubu’s achievements deserved greater recognition and argued that the administration’s record compared favourably with those of previous governments.
“I have said it many times that no president has matched his record. The number of roads, if you look at the roads he has undertaken, is amazing. Nobody has done that. Look at the coastal road,” she said.
Her remarks underscored the position of supporters of the President who believe that continuity in government would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms, complete major infrastructure projects and pursue further economic development.
The inauguration of the Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council is expected to strengthen political mobilisation and preparations ahead of the next presidential election.
The exercise is also expected to provide a platform for supporters, party stakeholders and campaign officials to intensify efforts to promote the President’s re-election bid across the country.
With the 2027 election approaching, political actors within the APC and its support groups are expected to increase public engagement, highlight the administration’s achievements and canvass support for another term for President Tinubu.
Ekeh’s appeal reflects the position of those advocating continuity, who argue that the administration should be given additional time to complete its projects and deepen the implementation of its policies.
However, the administration’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of the petrol subsidy and their effects on the cost of living, remain important issues in the national conversation. Nigerians will continue to assess the government’s performance in relation to economic conditions, employment opportunities, infrastructure, education, agriculture and the general welfare of citizens.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of 2027, Ekeh urged Nigerians to remain patient, support the country’s development efforts and give President Tinubu another opportunity to complete the work his administration has started.
She expressed optimism that, with sustained efforts, prayers and continuity in leadership, the country would record greater progress in the coming years.
