In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday, General Musa, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Nigeria, extended warm felicitations and best wishes to the APC national chairman as he celebrates the milestone.
The Defence Minister commended Yilwatda’s contributions to public service and democratic governance, noting that his leadership qualities, integrity and commitment to national development have continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians.
General Musa described the APC chairman as an exceptional patriotic leader whose career in academia, administration and politics reflects a strong commitment to service and the advancement of the nation.
“On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Nigeria, I celebrate an exceptional patriotic leader, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, as he marks his 58th birthday.
“His insightful leadership, integrity, and selfless service to our nation continue to inspire confidence and unity,” the Minister stated.
According to General Musa, the responsibilities of leading a major political organisation such as the APC require vision, maturity, courage and a strong commitment to democratic principles.
He noted that Yilwatda’s position as national chairman of the ruling party places him in an important position in the country’s political architecture, particularly at a time when Nigeria continues to pursue reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, promoting stability and accelerating national development.
The Minister further emphasised the connection between political stability and national security, stressing that peaceful political engagement, institutional harmony and respect for democratic processes are essential to creating an environment conducive to sustainable development.
He said effective political leadership contributes significantly to national cohesion by encouraging dialogue, strengthening institutions and promoting peaceful coexistence among citizens.
General Musa therefore acknowledged the role of Professor Yilwatda’s leadership in fostering political stability and institutional harmony, describing both as critical pillars for strengthening national security and advancing Nigeria’s development objectives.
The Minister also prayed for continued divine guidance and blessings for the APC national chairman as he enters another year of his life.
He wished Professor Yilwatda sound health, wisdom, courage and longevity, expressing hope that the celebrant would continue to contribute meaningfully to the development of the APC and the nation at large.
General Musa said he looked forward to Professor Yilwatda’s continued service to the party, the country and humanity, while wishing him many more years of fulfilment and accomplishment.
Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who attained the age of 58, is a scholar and public administrator who has occupied various positions of responsibility before assuming the leadership of the APC.
His birthday celebration provides an opportunity for political associates, public officials and well-wishers to acknowledge his contributions to public service and his current role in the leadership of Nigeria’s ruling political party.
The congratulatory message was signed by Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Assistant (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence.
