Tinubu Deserves Eight Years to Consolidate Reforms, Says Dr Amina Zanna

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Amina Zanna Ibrahim, has called for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, arguing that the President deserves to complete an eight-year tenure to consolidate what she described as his administration’s achievements across critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Zanna made the call in Abuja during the forum of the 2027 APC Female Aspirants and Candidates Network, organised in collaboration with the Traditional and Religious Women Leaders Network, at the official inauguration and unveiling of the “4+4 for Tinubu/Shettima 2027” project.

The event, which brought together APC female aspirants, candidates, women leaders, traditional and religious women leaders and other party stakeholders, also featured the full endorsement of Aduda, Chiya, Gabaya and other APC female candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Zanna said President Tinubu’s administration had recorded significant progress since assuming office, particularly in agriculture, infrastructure development, education and social intervention programmes.

According to her, the administration’s policies and programmes require continuity and sufficient time to achieve their full potential, stressing that an interruption after one term could undermine ongoing reforms.

“President Tinubu must complete his eight years because he has done so much in the area of agriculture revolution, road network, student loan and many other achievements since assumption of office,” Zanna said.

She urged Nigerians, particularly women and grassroots stakeholders, to assess the administration based on its policies and programmes rather than political rhetoric, arguing that continuity would enable the Federal Government to consolidate ongoing development initiatives.

The APC women’s forum also used the occasion to mobilise women across the country for the 2027 elections, with participants expressing support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu-Shettima administration.

The organisers said the unveiling of the “4+4” project was designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, expand women’s participation in politics and ensure effective voter mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential and other elections.

Women leaders at the gathering emphasised the importance of translating political support into grassroots action, particularly through sustained engagement with communities, traditional institutions, religious organisations and women’s groups.

The campaign strategy, captured in the slogan “Cooperation, Water the Ground, Get Out the Vote,” is expected to focus on building a strong grassroots structure capable of mobilising voters and communicating the administration’s policies to communities across the Federal Capital Territory and other parts of the country.

Zanna further called on APC women to remain united and committed to the party’s programmes, saying women have a critical role to play in determining the outcome of future elections.

She stressed that women should not only participate as voters but should also seek elective positions and occupy strategic roles in political decision-making processes.

The endorsement of Aduda, Chiya, Gabaya and other APC female candidates was also presented as part of the women’s network’s broader effort to promote female participation and representation within the party ahead of 2027.

Participants at the forum maintained that effective political mobilisation would require regular engagement with voters at the grassroots, explaining that women remain a major force in electoral mobilisation because of their extensive networks within families and communities.

The forum also called for greater cooperation among political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, women organisations and grassroots mobilisers to strengthen support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

The organisers said the initiative would continue to expand beyond Abuja, with plans to deepen engagement with women across the states and local government areas.

The gathering therefore served both as a platform for endorsing the Tinubu-Shettima ticket and as a mobilisation strategy aimed at strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 polls.

With the “4+4” campaign now unveiled, the APC female aspirants and candidates network said it was prepared to take the message of continuity, development and the Renewed Hope Agenda to communities across the country.

The forum ended with a renewed appeal to APC members and supporters to remain organised, united and actively involved in the party’s mobilisation efforts leading to the 2027 general elections.
