President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, on the occasion of his 58th birthday, describing him as a loyal party member, experienced administrator and grassroots mobiliser whose contributions continue to add value to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigeria.
President Tinubu’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President commended Yari for his years of political service and his commitment to the development of the APC, noting that his political experience, organisational capacity and understanding of grassroots mobilisation have remained significant assets to the party.
Yari, a former Governor of Zamfara State, served two terms as governor between 2011 and 2019. During his tenure, he also served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), where he provided leadership in coordinating the interests of state governors and promoting cooperation among his colleagues.
Tinubu acknowledged the experience Senator Yari acquired through his years in public office, particularly his contributions to political organisation and party development.
The President also commended Yari’s current responsibility as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, a position from which he is coordinating the party’s campaign structures and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the statement, Yari’s assignment includes promoting awareness of the policies, programmes and reforms of the Tinubu administration, particularly its Renewed Hope agenda.
The President described the senator as a committed member of the APC whose resilience and belief in the party’s progressive ideals have continued to shape his political engagements.
Tinubu further praised Yari’s commitment to serving his constituents and contributing to the activities of the governing party, expressing confidence in his ability to continue providing leadership in his various responsibilities.
“President Tinubu commends Senator Yari’s commitment, resilience and belief in the progressive ideals of the APC,” the statement said.
The President prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Senator Yari many more years in good health, wisdom and strength to continue serving his constituents, the APC and the nation.
Yari’s 58th birthday comes as political parties and political actors intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the APC focusing on strengthening its structures and communicating the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration to Nigerians.
The senator’s political career has spanned elective and party responsibilities, including his tenure as governor of Zamfara State and his current representation of Zamfara West in the National Assembly.
As Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, his role places him at the centre of the party’s organisational and mobilisation efforts as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
The President’s message therefore highlighted both Yari’s past record in public office and his current responsibilities within the APC, while celebrating his 58th birthday and wishing him continued strength and wisdom in public service.
