The Coordinator of Northern Projects Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A), Dr Shamsuddeen Ahmed, has said the organisation is committed to mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing the administration’s policy reforms, infrastructure development and interventions in education and agriculture.
Ahmed stated this during the unveiling of the national headquarters of Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) in Abuja by Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, as the group formally strengthened its organisational structure for political mobilisation across Northern Nigeria.
He explained that A4A comprises influential political figures and stakeholders from the North who have come together to promote the Tinubu administration and encourage continuity in the country’s leadership.
According to him, the group’s support for the President is driven not only by political considerations but also by what its members consider the achievements of the administration in various sectors of the economy.
Ahmed said the organisation was also committed to upholding the political understanding between Northern and Southern Nigeria concerning the rotation of presidential power.
He noted that the North had completed eight years under the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that, in the group’s view, the South should be allowed to complete its own eight-year tenure under the current political arrangement.
“The whole idea is to mobilise support for Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and also maintain the written agreement between the North and the South. The North has completed eight years under the late President Muhammadu Buhari, and now it is time to allow the South to complete its own eight years,” he said.
Ahmed stressed that A4A remained firmly behind Tinubu and Shettima, arguing that the administration’s policies and ongoing projects were among the reasons members of the organisation wanted the President to continue in office beyond 2027.
He identified policy reforms, road construction, student loans and agricultural interventions as areas in which the administration had introduced measures that the group believes deserve recognition.
According to him, infrastructure development across different parts of the country has also featured prominently in the administration’s agenda, with projects in both Northern and Southern Nigeria forming part of the group’s assessment of its performance.
He maintained that A4A intended to communicate these programmes and projects to Nigerians, particularly residents of the North, while mobilising support for the President and Vice President.
“We are strongly behind him, not just because of politics, but also to appreciate what he has done as President. When you look at his policy reforms, infrastructure, road networks, student loans, agriculture and many other areas, there are projects in both the North and the South,” Ahmed said.
He added that the organisation wanted Tinubu and Shettima to return for another term to continue the programmes and projects already initiated by the administration.
“We want President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to return and continue the work,” he stated.
The unveiling of the A4A national headquarters represents a step in the organisation’s efforts to coordinate its activities and strengthen its presence across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The group brings together political leaders and other stakeholders who have declared support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The organisation is expected to use its structures to coordinate engagement with political stakeholders and grassroots communities, as well as communicate the administration’s policies, programmes and development priorities.
The inauguration of the headquarters also provides a central point for coordinating the group’s activities and interactions with its state-level structures.

The event attracted prominent political figures and stakeholders, including serving and former public officeholders, party leaders and representatives of various political groups from across the country.
Their participation highlighted the group’s intention to establish a coordinated platform for its political activities ahead of the next general election.
The event also brought renewed attention to the need for political mobilisation to be accompanied by clear explanations of government policies and their effects on citizens.
Vice President Shettima, while unveiling the headquarters, urged supporters of the administration to explain its reforms with facts, transparency and measurable results rather than relying solely on political slogans.
He acknowledged that Nigerians had experienced difficult economic adjustments and emphasised the importance of listening to citizens’ concerns, including the challenges confronting traders, job seekers and households struggling with the cost of living.
The Vice President also stressed that political support should come with responsibility, noting that public confidence must be sustained through accountability and tangible outcomes.
He urged A4A to serve not only as a platform for electoral mobilisation but also as a channel through which citizens could communicate their concerns to those in positions of authority.
Shettima identified security, economic opportunities, poverty reduction, education and stronger public institutions as important priorities, stressing that government policies should translate into practical benefits for Nigerians.
His remarks underscored the importance of engaging the public on both the achievements and challenges of the administration as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
For A4A, the establishment of the national headquarters is part of a broader effort to organise supporters and promote the continuation of the Tinubu-Shettima administration.
Ahmed said the group’s position was informed by its assessment of the administration’s policies and its belief that ongoing programmes should be given further time to achieve their intended objectives.
He reiterated that the political understanding between the North and the South remained an important consideration in the group’s position, maintaining that the South should complete its eight-year tenure following the eight years served by the late Buhari.
The group’s mobilisation efforts come as political actors and support organisations begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As the campaign period approaches, A4A’s activities are expected to focus on communicating its position to political stakeholders and communities across Northern Nigeria.
Ahmed expressed confidence that the organisation would continue to work towards its stated objective of mobilising support for Tinubu and Shettima, with the ultimate goal of securing their return to office for a second term.
The unveiling of the headquarters therefore marks a new phase in A4A’s organisational activities, as the group seeks to translate its declared support into a coordinated political mobilisation effort across the North.
