Mrs Adewoye Vivian has called on Nigerians to remain security conscious at their workplaces and homes, stressing that collective vigilance and responsible security practices are essential to safeguarding lives, property and national productivity.
Adewoye made the call in Abuja shortly after she received an award and was inducted by the African Institute of Management and Administrative Science (AIMAS) at the Africa 2026 Security Strategic Management Conference.
The conference, which brought together professionals and stakeholders from different sectors, was organised under the theme, “Countering Terrorism, Insurgency and Banditry in Africa for Optimum Productivity.”
Speaking after receiving the honour, Adewoye urged individuals, organisations and communities to take security matters seriously and avoid practices that could expose them to preventable risks.
She noted that security should not be viewed solely as the responsibility of security agencies, but as a collective responsibility requiring the cooperation and vigilance of everyone.
According to her, people must cultivate the habit of being observant of their surroundings, reporting suspicious activities to appropriate authorities and adopting basic security measures both at home and in their places of work.
She stressed that creating a safe environment is fundamental to productivity, effective service delivery and sustainable development, particularly at a time when African countries are confronted with security challenges, including terrorism, insurgency and banditry.
Adewoye also expressed appreciation to the organisers of the conference for recognising her contributions and finding her worthy of the award and induction.
She described the recognition as an encouragement to do more in the service of humanity and the country, promising to continue contributing her quota to national development.
“I sincerely appreciate the organisers for this honour. It is a recognition that I do not take for granted. I will continue to do my best in contributing positively to mankind and to my fatherland,” she said.
She further encouraged professionals across various sectors to remain committed to excellence, integrity and service, stressing that individual contributions, when combined, could make a significant difference in addressing the challenges confronting the continent.
Adewoye has a professional background spanning corporate communications, media relations and public service compliance. Her work has also focused on public-sector accountability, transparency and effective service delivery.
She regularly reports on high-level administrative activities within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), including developments relating to the enhancement of healthcare facilities and the performance monitoring of the Ministerial SERVICOM Unit under the Health Services and Environmental Secretariat.
Through her professional engagements and reporting, she has continued to highlight issues surrounding transparency, accountability and improved service delivery across government health institutions in the FCT.
