Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has paid a condolence visit to the family of his late cousin and brother, Mr. Yakusak Ayuba Sani, who died at the age of 65 after a brief illness.
Senator Katung, who was in Kaduna to commiserate with the bereaved family, described the death of Sani as a painful loss to the family, relatives and the wider community.
The lawmaker said the deceased was a humble, peace-loving and hardworking man who made meaningful contributions to the lives of those around him during his lifetime.
According to him, the late Sani lived a life characterised by service, humility and love for his family and community, adding that his wise counsel and brotherly disposition would be greatly missed.
Katung expressed his condolences to members of the bereaved family and urged them to draw strength from the positive memories and values left behind by the deceased.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of Sani’s soul and asked God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The family expressed appreciation to Senator Katung for taking time to visit and stand with them during their period of grief, describing his presence and words of encouragement as a demonstration of love and solidarity.
In a related development, Senator Katung also paid a homage visit to Hon. Mrs. Comfort Amwe, a former Chairperson of Sanga Local Government Area and former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, who is currently recuperating from an illness.
During the visit, the senator conveyed his goodwill and expressed concern over her health condition. He prayed for her speedy and complete recovery, wishing her renewed strength and good health.
Katung’s visits, according to those close to the lawmaker, reflect his continued commitment to maintaining close relationships with constituents, family members, community leaders and other stakeholders, particularly during moments of grief and personal challenges.
The senator also used the occasion to encourage the family of the deceased to remain united and prayerful as they mourn their loved one.
