Mohammed Ahmed, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Gombe Central, has called on Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, saying the President deserves a second term in office in view of his administration’s development strides in the past three and a half years.
Ahmed said the President had demonstrated commitment to moving Nigeria forward through investments in road infrastructure, student loans, agriculture and other critical sectors of the economy.
He urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the administration, arguing that President Tinubu should be given another four years to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete projects initiated under his leadership.
The APC senatorial candidate made the appeal while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
He expressed optimism that the inauguration would pave the way for the commencement of political mobilisation and campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the performance of the Tinubu administration over the past three and a half years provides sufficient grounds for Nigerians to consider granting the President another term.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term in office, looking at the development strides recorded in three and a half years. He is trying his best to ensure that Nigeria moves forward,” Ahmed said.
He maintained that the administration had made significant efforts in infrastructure development, particularly road construction, as well as in the education and agricultural sectors.
Ahmed specifically cited the Federal Government’s investments in road networks, the student loan scheme and other infrastructure projects as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national development.
He also highlighted the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other major road projects, describing the scale of infrastructure development under the present administration as remarkable.
“The number of roads being undertaken by this administration is amazing. If you look at the roads the President has embarked upon, including the coastal road and many others, you will appreciate the level of work being done,” he said.
The former police officer argued that the government’s achievements should be assessed within the context of the time required to implement major policies and complete large-scale infrastructure projects.
He expressed the belief that the country would witness greater improvements if the President were allowed to complete his programmes and consolidate the gains of his administration.
“I believe the next four years will be better, by the grace of God. I call on Nigerians to be patient and allow him to finish what he has started,” he said.
Ahmed further urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country, stressing that national development required both practical leadership efforts and collective support from citizens.
He said that while the President was making efforts to address the country’s challenges through government policies and projects, Nigerians should remain hopeful and contribute to the nation’s progress.
According to him, sustained support for the administration would provide an opportunity for ongoing programmes to deliver greater benefits to citizens.
Beyond his appeal for the President’s re-election, Ahmed also pledged to provide effective and people-oriented representation to the people of Gombe Central if elected to the Senate in 2027.
He assured constituents that he would prioritise their welfare and work to ensure that the dividends of democracy reached every part of the senatorial district.
“If my people give me the opportunity to represent them in the Senate come 2027, I will not disappoint them. I will make sure that the dividends of democracy reach everybody in my senatorial district,” he said.
The APC candidate’s pledge comes as political activities and consultations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with aspirants and party stakeholders outlining their plans and seeking the support of voters.
Ahmed’s proposed legislative agenda, as expressed during the interview, centres on inclusive development and ensuring that constituents benefit from democratic governance.

His comments also reflect the broader efforts by APC stakeholders to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid while strengthening the party’s political structures at the state and constituency levels.
The inauguration of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council is expected to provide a platform for coordinating the party’s mobilisation activities and communicating the administration’s record to Nigerians ahead of the elections.
For Ahmed, the exercise represents an important step towards intensifying engagement with voters and presenting the administration’s achievements as part of the argument for a second presidential term.
He reiterated his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, insisting that the government should be allowed to continue its work and complete the programmes and projects already initiated.
As the 2027 elections approach, the APC senatorial candidate called on Nigerians to remain patient, maintain faith in the country and support what he described as the President’s efforts to move the nation forward.
He expressed the hope that a second term would create an opportunity for the administration to build on its existing policies and infrastructure projects, while delivering improved development outcomes to Nigerians.
Ahmed also appealed to voters in Gombe Central to give him the opportunity to represent them in the National Assembly, promising to make their interests and welfare central to his legislative responsibilities.
He maintained that, with continued commitment from the government and the support of Nigerians, the country could make further progress in infrastructure, education, agriculture and other sectors critical to national development.
