Prince Jedy Agba, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Bekwara/Obanliku/Obudu Federal Constituency of Cross River State, has promised to prioritise the welfare of his constituents and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every community if elected into the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
Agba, who recently received his Certificate of Return as the party’s candidate, said his ambition was driven by the desire to improve the living conditions of the people and ensure that they benefited from effective representation and people-oriented policies.
He gave the assurance during the NDC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, inauguration of the party’s National Campaign Council (NCC), and presentation of Certificates of Return to the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The NDC candidate said he wanted to see his constituents enjoy a better quality of life rather than continue to struggle with challenges that could be addressed through purposeful leadership and effective representation.
According to him, his aspiration is to ensure that the people of Bekwarra, Obanliku and Obudu enjoy the benefits of democracy through improved welfare, greater opportunities and attention to their needs.
“I want to see my people enjoying life, not suffering in my constituency. They must enjoy the dividends of democracy if I am elected in 2027,” Agba said.
He stressed that political leadership should translate into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens, adding that elected representatives must remain connected to the people who entrusted them with their mandate.
The candidate also expressed confidence in the NDC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, declaring that the party was looking forward to the polls as an opportunity to present an alternative to voters.
He criticised the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and said he believed the 2027 elections would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to make their decisions about the country’s political leadership.

Agba urged voters to consider the NDC’s presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, whom he endorsed as the party’s preferred choices for the 2027 general elections.
His endorsement formed part of his appeal for voters to support the party at both the national and constituency levels.
The presentation of Certificates of Return to NDC candidates marked an important step in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections, as aspirants formally received recognition as the party’s candidates for their respective constituencies.
The party’s NEC meeting and inauguration of the National Campaign Council also provided an opportunity for its leadership and candidates to focus on campaign organisation, mobilisation and strategies for engaging voters across the country.
For Agba, the certificate presentation represents the beginning of a political journey centred on securing the mandate of the people of Bekwarra, Obanliku and Obudu.

He maintained that, if elected, his priority would be to ensure that the needs of his constituents receive adequate attention and that democratic governance produces meaningful benefits for communities across the federal constituency.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Agba’s promise to improve the welfare of his constituents is expected to form a central part of his campaign message as he seeks to win a seat in the House of Representatives.
The final decision, however, rests with voters in the constituency, who will determine through the ballot whether to entrust him with the responsibility of representing their interests at the National Assembly.
