Hon. Bello Bature Isah, the Kebbi State Organising Secretary for the Abubakar Malami Campaign, has described the inauguration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council as a significant step towards what he called a new beginning for Nigerian youths and the country at large.
Isah expressed confidence in the ability of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, to provide alternative leadership for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general election.
He said the inauguration of the campaign council marked the beginning of a process that could bring renewed hope to Nigerians, particularly young people, whom he said were facing significant economic and social challenges.
According to him, the ADC presents an alternative political platform for Nigerians seeking changes in the country’s leadership and governance.
Speaking during the inauguration of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Isah expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in the 2027 general election, insisting that Atiku Abubakar had the plans and policy direction needed to address the country’s challenges.
He said, “This inauguration marks the beginning of success for Nigerian youths and the entire country. Atiku Abubakar is an alternative for Nigeria, and I believe that with him, the ADC can achieve its objective in 2027.”
The Kebbi State campaign organiser said the country needed a new direction, arguing that the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had not met the expectations of many Nigerians.
Isah accused the ruling party of failing to adequately address the difficulties confronting citizens, particularly the rising cost of living and the hardship experienced by households across the country.
He said public frustration over economic conditions had increased the demand for an alternative approach to governance, adding that the ADC intended to position itself as a platform for such change.
According to him, Nigerians were increasingly concerned about their economic well-being and the future of younger generations, making leadership, policy direction and accountability critical issues ahead of the next general election.
Isah maintained that he believed Atiku Abubakar could perform the responsibilities of the presidency effectively, pointing to the former vice-president’s proposed policies and plans as reasons for his support.
He urged Nigerians to examine the policy proposals and leadership promises of political parties as preparations for the 2027 general election gathered momentum.
The inauguration of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council is expected to serve as a platform for coordinating the party’s political activities, mobilising supporters and communicating its agenda to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general election.

The council is also expected to provide an organisational structure for engaging party stakeholders and supporters across the states and the Federal Capital Territory.
For the ADC, the campaign structure represents an opportunity to strengthen its presence nationally and present its proposed solutions to the economic, security and governance challenges confronting the country.
Isah’s remarks reflect the position of supporters of Atiku Abubakar who believe that the former vice-president should be given another opportunity to lead the country.
However, the success of any political party in the forthcoming election will depend on several factors, including its organisation, candidate selection, policy proposals, public engagement and the confidence voters place in its ability to deliver on its promises.
The inauguration attracted several political figures and party stakeholders, including the ADC presidential candidate and his running mate, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council and members of his team, party chieftains, stakeholders and supporters.
Their presence underscored the importance attached to the campaign council as the party prepares for the political activities leading to the 2027 general election.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for party members and supporters to demonstrate their commitment to the ADC’s political objectives and discuss the task of mobilising support for its candidates.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general election continue to develop, the ADC faces the task of translating its campaign structure and supporters’ enthusiasm into a clearly defined national programme capable of addressing voters’ concerns.
For Isah, however, the inauguration represents a moment of optimism and a step towards the political change he believes many Nigerians are seeking.
He expressed confidence that Atiku Abubakar and the ADC would make a strong case for their candidacy as the country approaches another election cycle.
