The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, has represented the President at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kofar Sauri Junction Road project in Katsina State.
The project, which covers a distance of 1.7 kilometres, is expected to link the Kofar Sauri–Kwanar Yan Fura Fura route with the Kofar Durbi–Kwanar Yan Lemu Road, with a view to improving road connectivity within the area.
The road project is sponsored by Hon. Sani Aliyu Danlami, popularly known as Garkuwan Arewan Katsina, who represents Katsina Central Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Speaking at the ceremony on Monday, Masari commended the lawmaker for initiating the infrastructure project, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to public service and the delivery of democratic dividends to constituents.
He urged Danlami to sustain his efforts towards providing projects and initiatives that would improve the welfare of the people he represents.
Masari’s presence at the ceremony underscored the Federal Government’s engagement with political representatives and stakeholders working to address infrastructure needs at the constituency level.
The road project is expected to strengthen connectivity between the affected routes and contribute to easing movement for residents and other road users. However, the press release did not provide details of the project’s cost, completion timeline or the contractor handling the construction.
In his remarks, Danlami expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for what he described as creating opportunities for elected representatives to serve their constituents and contribute to national development.
The lawmaker acknowledged the administration’s role in enabling public office holders to undertake initiatives intended to deliver tangible benefits to the people.
He said the project reflected his commitment to addressing infrastructure needs within Katsina Central Federal Constituency and improving the living conditions of residents.
Danlami’s sponsorship of the road project adds to the infrastructure interventions being undertaken by elected representatives to address local development priorities.
Road infrastructure remains an important component of community development, particularly in facilitating the movement of people and goods, improving access to essential services and supporting commercial activities.
When completed, the Kofar Sauri Junction Road project is expected to provide improved access along the designated routes, although its ultimate impact will depend on the quality of construction, maintenance and effective use of the road.
The ceremony also featured political appeals ahead of the 2027 general elections, as Masari and Danlami called on the people of Katsina State to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Both leaders urged voters to elect APC candidates at all levels of government, arguing that continuity in leadership would enable the party to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Their appeal comes as political parties and their supporters continue preparations for the next general elections, with infrastructure development and constituency projects likely to feature among the issues discussed by political stakeholders.
The leaders’ message linked the road project to the broader political conversation about governance, representation and development, while urging residents to maintain their support for the ruling party.
However, the extent to which the project will influence voters’ decisions remains a matter for the electorate, whose choices will be shaped by their assessment of governance, candidates and competing political platforms.
The groundbreaking ceremony attracted political leaders, religious scholars, government representatives and community stakeholders from Katsina State and beyond.
Among those in attendance were the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Muttaka Rabe Darma; Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, NEPAD Coordinator; Sheikh Abu Ammar; Sheikh Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan; Sheikh Muhammad Salisu Gumel; and the Chairman of Katsina Local Government Area, Hon. Miqdad Isa Saude.
Other dignitaries included Malam Maiwada Daudawa and Dr. Garba Shehu Matazu, alongside other political figures, religious leaders and community representatives.
Their presence highlighted the participation of different segments of the community in an event focused on local infrastructure development and political engagement.
The Kofar Sauri Junction Road project highlights the role of constituency representatives in initiating and sponsoring infrastructure interventions aimed at addressing local needs.

For communities, road projects can provide practical benefits by improving access to markets, residential areas, public facilities and neighbouring communities. Such projects can also support small businesses and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and other goods.
The project’s 1.7-kilometre scope makes its effective execution particularly important to residents and road users who depend on the connecting routes for their daily activities.
Beyond the groundbreaking ceremony, the project’s success will depend on timely execution, adherence to construction standards and the provision of a durable road capable of serving the community over the long term.
As construction progresses, residents will be looking towards the delivery of the project and the practical improvements it can bring to transportation and accessibility in the area.
The ceremony concluded with renewed calls for infrastructure development, effective representation and political support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
