The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has reported a series of operational successes across 10 states, including the arrest of suspects linked to kidnapping, murder, cult-related violence, armed robbery and rape, as well as the recovery of stolen vehicles, railway materials, firearms and ammunition.

The operations, carried out in different parts of the country, also led to the arrest of suspects in connection with the alleged transportation and receipt of stolen vehicles, the recovery of a stolen tricycle and the rescue of victims of violent incidents.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in the police’s 24-hour operational successes report for Monday, October 12, 2026.

According to the report, the operations covered Delta, Kebbi, Rivers, Lagos, Kano, Anambra, Katsina, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states, with two separate incidents recorded in Delta State.

The police said investigations were ongoing in all the reported cases, while efforts were being made to apprehend other suspects who allegedly participated in some of the crimes

In Delta State, police operatives, working jointly with other personnel, arrested a suspected kidnapper during a security operation at Ubulu-Nor.

The operation resulted in the recovery of two live cartridges and one expended cartridge from the suspect.

The suspect is currently in police custody, while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Asaba, has commenced an investigation into the incident.

In a separate operation in the state, police operatives arrested another suspect allegedly involved in cultism and armed robbery.

The police said the arrest followed credible intelligence received by the operatives.

During the operation, the officers recovered a locally made firearm, two live cartridges and a cutlass from the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect remains in custody as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether other individuals were involved.

The SCID in Asaba is handling the investigation.

In Kebbi State, police detectives arrested a suspect allegedly linked to the killing of two persons at Kurun Kudu Fulani Settlement.

According to the police, the suspect confessed to conspiring with another individual in connection with the killings.

The police said efforts were ongoing to locate and arrest the alleged accomplice, who was still at large at the time of the report.

The case has been transferred to the SCID in Birnin Kebbi for further investigation.

The police did not disclose the identities of the victims or provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding the killings.

In Rivers State, police operatives arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the transportation and receipt of stolen vehicles.

The operation led to the recovery of four vehicles suspected to have been stolen.

The recovered vehicles comprised two Toyota Camry cars, one Toyota Corolla and one shuttle bus.

The police said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the alleged criminal group who had fled.

The SCID in Port Harcourt is investigating the case to establish the source of the vehicles, identify their rightful owners and determine the roles allegedly played by the arrested suspects.

The recovery is part of the police’s efforts to investigate vehicle theft and disrupt networks involved in the movement and receipt of stolen property.

In Lagos State, police operatives arrested seven suspects following a cult-related clash in the Ijesha area.

The police said their operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene after receiving information about the incident.

The seven suspects were subsequently arrested and are currently in custody as investigations continue.

The case, which involves an alleged murder linked to the cult-related violence, is being investigated by the SCID in Ikeja.

The police did not provide further details about the identity of the deceased, the circumstances of the clash or the specific roles allegedly played by the suspects.

Investigators are expected to establish the sequence of events leading to the incident and determine whether additional suspects were involved.

In Kano State, police detectives arrested a suspect allegedly connected to the killing of an 18-year-old man.

The police said the arrest followed credible intelligence received by the detectives.

According to the operational report, the suspect voluntarily confessed to committing the alleged crime and is currently in police custody.

The SCID in Kano is handling the investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing.

The police did not disclose the identities of the suspect and the victim or provide details about the alleged motive.

In Anambra State, police operatives, working in collaboration with other security personnel, responded to a cult-related clash in Okpoko.

The operation resulted in the rescue of two victims who sustained severe injuries during the incident.

Five suspects were subsequently arrested and are currently in police custody.

The injured victims were rescued following the intervention of the security operatives, while investigations commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the violence.

The SCID in Awka is investigating the case.

The police did not disclose the identities of the victims or the arrested suspects but said the investigation was ongoing.

n Katsina State, police operatives on routine stop-and-search duty intercepted a vehicle conveying a large quantity of railway tracks and sleepers suspected to have been vandalised.

The interception led to the arrest of two suspects, while the recovered railway materials were secured as exhibits.

The police did not disclose the quantity of the materials recovered, their precise origin or the destination to which they were allegedly being transported.

The SCID in Katsina is investigating the case to determine how the materials were obtained and whether the suspects were connected to a wider railway vandalism network.

The development highlights the police’s use of routine vehicle checks to identify and intercept suspected stolen public infrastructure materials.

In Cross River State, police detectives arrested a suspect allegedly linked to the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl.

The police said the victim was rescued and taken for medical examination, while the suspect remained in custody.

The SCID in Calabar is handling the investigation.

The police did not disclose the identities of the victim or the suspect, nor did the report provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence.

The case underscores the importance of protecting children from sexual violence and ensuring that allegations of abuse are thoroughly investigated.

The victim’s identity should remain protected in any further reporting on the case.

In Akwa Ibom State, police operatives intercepted and arrested a suspect found in possession of a stolen tricycle along Oron Road.

The tricycle was recovered by the operatives, while investigations continued to establish the circumstances surrounding the theft.

The police said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the alleged criminal group.

The police did not disclose the identity of the suspect or the owner of the recovered tricycle.

The operational report shows that the police recorded arrests and recoveries in cases involving violent crime, alleged criminal associations, theft and vandalism across the affected states.

The arrests in Kebbi and Kano relate to separate homicide investigations, while the incidents in Lagos and Anambra involved cult-related violence. Delta State recorded two separate operations involving a suspected kidnapper and another suspect allegedly linked to cultism and armed robbery.

In Rivers State, the recovery of four vehicles followed the arrest of two suspects allegedly involved in handling stolen vehicles. Katsina police intercepted suspected vandalised railway materials, while operatives in Akwa Ibom recovered a stolen tricycle.

Cross River police, meanwhile, reported the arrest of a suspect in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a child.

Although the arrests and recoveries represent developments in the respective investigations, the police have yet to provide final findings on the cases. The suspects’ alleged involvement in the offences remains subject to investigation and due judicial process.

The police said the relevant State Criminal Investigation Departments were handling the cases, while efforts to apprehend fleeing suspects and other alleged accomplices continued in some of the incidents.

The operational update was issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The report was published under the police’s public engagement messages, “Police Is Your Friend” and “Citizens Are the Boss,” reflecting the Force’s stated emphasis on public cooperation and citizen-focused policing.

The police continue to rely on intelligence, patrols, stop-and-search operations and collaboration with other security agencies to detect and respond to criminal activities.

Members of the public are encouraged to provide credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime, identifying suspects and protecting lives and property.

The police said investigations into all the reported incidents were ongoing.
