The Maikalangu (APC) Grassroots Network, also known as The Greater Together Network, has been officially recognised and certified by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), FCT, to participate in the party’s political activities.
The recognition, according to the group, is aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation, sensitisation and community development efforts within AMAC, while contributing to the growth and organisational objectives of the ruling party.
The official recognition certificate was presented to the leadership of the Maikalangu APC Grassroots Network at the AMAC APC party office by the AMAC APC executives led by the party chairman, Hon. Medugu Ahmed.
Also present at the presentation was the AMAC APC Organising Secretary, Hon. Sylvanus Egah, alongside other party stakeholders and members of the grassroots network.
Speaking on the development, the leadership of the Maikalangu Grassroots Network described the certification as a significant milestone and a recognition of the group’s commitment to grassroots mobilisation, political participation and community development.
The group said the certificate would further encourage its members to intensify their activities and contribute more meaningfully to the advancement of the APC and the communities within its area of operation.
According to the network, the recognition provides an opportunity for its members to participate formally in APC political activities while using their grassroots structures to promote greater political awareness, mobilisation and development.
The group expressed appreciation to the AMAC APC leadership for the confidence reposed in it, describing the recognition as a testament to the efforts of its members and supporters.
It also commended the AMAC Executive Chairman, FCT ALGON Chairman and Grand Patron of the Maikalangu Grassroots Network, Hon. Christopher Zakka-Maikalangu, for what it described as his support and encouragement for grassroots participation and community development.
The network said Zakka-Maikalangu had provided an avenue for members of the community to express their abilities, contribute their ideas and deploy their potentials towards the progress of their communities.
“We appreciate everyone who supported and encouraged us in one way or the other to do the little we could do, and we should expect more from us as a team,” the group said.
The leadership further pledged to build on the recognition by strengthening its grassroots structures and expanding its mobilisation and sensitisation activities.
It said the network remained committed to working with relevant stakeholders towards achieving greater political participation and development at the grassroots.
The group also expressed gratitude to God Almighty for what it described as a successful outing during the last election, while looking forward to greater achievements in future political engagements.
Among the executives of the Maikalangu Grassroots Network present at the presentation were the Director-General, Hon. Amb. Vincent Godfrey Shekwoshawe; Organising Secretary, Comrade Stephen Haggai A.; and Youth Leader, Amb. Fidel A. Inyom.
The Director-General, Hon. Amb. Vincent Godfrey Shekwoshawe, who signed the statement on behalf of the network, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to grassroots mobilisation, sensitisation and development.
The network said the official certification marked the beginning of a new phase in its activities and expressed optimism that its partnership with the AMAC APC structure would produce stronger grassroots engagement and contribute to the overall development of the party and the communities it serves.
